Beyond the DJ Booth: How AVNEET Is Building a Music Movement of His Own

The producer-composer from Udaipur spent years perfecting his craft behind the scenes. Now, with “Bollywood Janata Party”, AVNEET is bringing that vision to the live stage.

Mumbai: Long before social media clips began circulating online and before audiences started recognising him beyond the studio, AVNEET was focused on something far less visible understanding music at its foundation.

For the producer-composer, the journey was never solely about performing in front of crowds. It began in the studio, where countless hours were spent learning composition, arrangement and production. While the music industry increasingly rewarded speed and visibility, AVNEET’s approach remained rooted in patience and craftsmanship.

That foundation would eventually shape everything that followed. Growing up in Udaipur, a city known more for its cultural heritage than electronic music, AVNEET found himself exploring sounds and genres that were still relatively unfamiliar to many audiences around him. Rather than waiting for a scene to emerge, he helped create one.

In the early years of India’s digital streaming boom, AVNEET and fellow musicians launched Smashers, an electronic music festival that introduced audiences in Udaipur to a different side of contemporary music culture. At a time when electronic music was still largely concentrated in metropolitan cities, building a regional audience required persistence, experimentation and community-building.

Multiple editions later, the festival left a lasting impact on the city’s music ecosystem and helped establish a platform for emerging talent and alternative sounds. But even as live events gained momentum, the studio remained central to AVNEET’s identity. Over the years, he continued to develop as an independent producer and composer, working on original music, collaborations and projects that expanded his creative footprint. Those who have followed his journey often point to the same characteristic: a commitment to the process behind the music rather than simply the outcome.

That philosophy has become increasingly visible in recent years. Raw studio moments, snippets of works-in-progress and behind-the-scenes recordings have found a growing audience across social media. Rather than showcasing only polished final products, the content offers listeners a glimpse into the creative decisions, experiments and emotions that shape a song before it reaches the public.
