Welcome to the Jungle Nears ₹131 Crore Despite Rivals

Akshay Kumar’s Welcome to the Jungle continues its steady run at the Indian box office, crossing ₹131.5 crore net in 16 days despite mounting competition from newer releases. The film’s third-week performance highlights strong audience retention even as screen counts have shrunk.

Strong Start, Steady Decline

The film opened powerfully, collecting ₹95.21 crore net in its first week before slowing to ₹33.69 crore in week two. Its third-weekend earnings held up reasonably well, reflecting continued word-of-mouth support even as newer titles ate into its screen share. The comedy-adventure entertainer, directed by Ahmed Khan, features an ensemble cast including Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, and Arshad Warsi.

Competition and Career Milestone

The film faced stiff headwinds from Alpha, which opened with a strong ₹34 crore net in its first weekend, and Dhamaal 4, which pulled family audiences during the third week. Despite this crowded marketplace, Welcome to the Jungle has now become Akshay Kumar’s 21st film to cross the ₹100 crore net mark in India — his fourth consecutive hit and seventh since the pandemic. Having already overtaken Rowdy Rathore‘s ₹131 crore lifetime total, the film is on track to surpass Toilet: Ek Prem Katha‘s ₹133.6 crore benchmark, which would place it among Kumar’s all-time top 10 domestic grossers.

On the global front, the film’s worldwide gross has reached ₹187.38 crore, buoyed by ₹32.21 crore from overseas markets, underscoring its appeal beyond Indian shores. With steady weekend spikes and consistent overseas numbers, Welcome to the Jungle is shaping up as one of the year’s more commercially successful comedy entertainers, cementing Kumar’s reputation as a reliable box office performer across genre.
