Yamuna water level might rise again in old Delhi

Yamuna water level might rise again in old Delhi

After decreasing for two days, the Yamuna water level in Delhi is expected to climb again on Monday night on the Old Delhi river Bridge.

Atishi, a Delhi cabinet minister, has asked residents to remain in rescue camps since “the Central Water Commission estimates that it can reach 206.1 metres overnight.”

On the other hand, she claims that there is no threat to the people of Delhi due to this.

She added that the water level rose somewhat due to heavy rainfall in various districts of Haryana on Sunday.

According to the Central Water Commission, the Yamuna water level was 205.87 metres at 2 p.m., higher than the danger mark of 205.33 metres.

CWC reports on Yamuna Water level:

According to the CWC website, the Yamuna water level would climb to 205.83 metres at 7 p.m. and 206.1 metres at 9 p.m.

“However, all people living in relief camps are being asked not to return to their homes just yet.” “Return to your homes only when the water level has dropped below the danger level,” Atishi tweeted in Hindi.

The river’s water level in Delhi climbed to 205.80 metres at 12 noon, up from 205.58 metres at 9 a.m. On Sunday night, the water level was 205.52 metres.

Yamuna’s water level broke the previous record of 207.49 metres last week and crossed 208 metres on July 12.

The river has been in flood for the past week, rising to 207.71 metres on Wednesday, breaking the record of 207.49 metres set in 1978 and inundating numerous key locations in Delhi after submerging the flood plains.
