Here’s a fast rundown of the top 5 best-selling vehicles from the previous month:
The Maruti WagonR
In November 2021, the Maruti WagonR has crowned India’s best-selling car.
In its new generation avatar, one of Maruti’s oldest models dominates the sales charts. The WagonR has consistently ranked among the top five cars sold in India in recent months. Maruti sold 16,853 WagonRs in November, a slight increase from the 16,256 units sold during the same period last year.
Swift Maruti
Maruti’s premium hatchback Swift demonstrated that it did not affect sales despite a recent poor performance in the Global NCAP crash tests. Maruti sold 14,568 Swifts last month, up from just 9,180 in October of this year. Swift’s sales, however, have decreased from 18,498 units in November of last year.
Maruti Alto
Maruti’s oldest surviving model, the Alto, was dethroned from the top spot by its sibling WagonR last month. Alto’s November sales were 13,812 units, decreasing the 17,389 units sold in October of this year. It is also less than the 15.321 units sold by Maruti in November 2020. Maruti is expected to release a facelift version of the Alto, which Suzuki recently unveiled.
Vitara Brezza (Maruti)
With a significant increase in sales, the Vitara Brezza, India’s first sub-compact SUV, returned to the top-10 list in November. Maruti sold 10,760 Brezzas last month, far exceeding the 7.838 units it could sell during the same period the previous year. Maruti also intends to release a facelift version of the Brezza in the coming days. However, no specific launch date has been announced by the automaker.
