On Saturday, the National Broadband Mission announced that PM Modi would launch 5G services in India at the India Mobile Congress on October 1.

The PM Modi will kick off the four-day event next month. During which leading telecom companies such as Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea will discuss their 5G plans for the country. At the same time, a slew of participants, including gear makers, tower providers. Ecosystem players, will showcase their 5G technologies and use cases.

Reliance Jio, India’s largest carrier, intends to launch Jio 5G by Diwali 2022 in multiple vital cities, adding the metropolises of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai.

“We intend to expand the Jio 5G footprint month after month.

We would deliver Jio 5G to every town, taluka, and tehsil in our country by December 2023. Which is less than eighteen months from now, “Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries (RIL). Stated while announcing a commitment to invest a whopping 2 lakh crore in building a pan-India 5G network.

Bharti Airtel Ltd is preparing to launch 5G services, which will cover urban India by the end of 2023. According to Gopal Vittal, the chief executive of the country’s second-largest telecom operator, earlier this month.

“By December, we should have coverage in major metropolitan areas. We will rapidly expand to cover the entire country, “Vittal stated.

Vittal told analysts last month that Airtel will launch 5G services in 5000 towns and cities by March 2024.

Despite purchasing spectrum in 17 circles across the country in auctions last month, Vodafone Idea has not announced plans for a 5G launch.
