Salman Khan confirms that ‘Prem will return’ in a new Sooraj Barjatya film

Sooraj Barjatya previously described Salman Khan as a “family guy” and stated that their next movie together will “take some time” in an interview with indianexpress.com.

On Wednesday, Sooraj Barjatya attended a special screening of his upcoming film Uunchai in Mumbai. Salman Khan was among the many Bollywood celebrities who attended the event. Salman has appeared in several films directed by Sooraj Bharjatya. And now it appears that they have confirmed another reunion.

Rumours of Salman Khan reunit with Sooraj Barjatya have been circulating for several years.

They last collaborated on Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in 2015. After earlier confirming the rumours in an interview with indianexpress.com, the actor-director duo has now spoken about their next project together.

When Salman Khan walk the red carpet with the filmmaker at the Uunchai premiere, the media stationed there asked Sooraj if he had any plans to create a new version of Salman’s iconic Prem series of characters in his next film. In response, Sooraj stated, “Prem will return,” and added, “title registered.” Salman then joked, “Prem will return, and he will make sure that he gets married as well.”

Salman and Sooraj have previously worked together on film such as Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994), also Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999). (1999). Prem Ratan Dhan Payo was their most recent collaboration (2015).

Sooraj had previously told news that his next project with Salman will ‘take some time,’ and that the superstar is a ‘family guy.’

“Honestly, there are months when we do not talk or meet,” he admitted. He is also busy; when I am writing, I keep to myself. But we continue to talk, and he encourages me to make more films. He is constantly encouraging me to make more family films. ‘Let is make what we used to make, bring it back,’ he says.
