Gujarat Flood: Torrential rains have caused significant flooding and disruption across Gujarat, India, particularly affecting districts like Surat, Bharuch, Anand, and Vadodara.

The heavy downpour has led to swollen rivers, overflowing dams, and severe waterlogging. Prompting the evacuation of hundreds of people and the closure of educational institutions.

Evacuations and Rescue Operations of Gujarat Flood:

Authorities, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local fire teams, have been actively rescuing people from flooded areas and relocating them to safer locations.

In Surat, around 200 people were relocated after the city was heavily flooded. The Bhukhi River’s overflow in Mangrol taluka led to the evacuation of 21 people, including children. Similar efforts were seen in Palsana town and Kumbhariya village in Surat city, where several residents were rescued.

The rains have also caused infrastructural damage, with incidents of wall collapses reported in multiple villages.

In Vadodara, the Vishwamitri River reached a dangerous level, posing a risk of flooding. The city’s administration has deployed NDRF and SDRF teams and declared a holiday for schools and colleges.
