International delegations from Australia, Fiji, Kyrgyz Republic, Madagascar, and Russia are scheduled to commence a four-day visit to Gujarat starting Sunday. The visit aligns with the state’s upcoming voting day on May 7.

Purpose of Visit 

The visit is part of the International Election Visitors Program (IEVP), an initiative by the Election Commission of India. The delegations will observe the voting process in Gujarat.

According to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Gujarat, P Bharathi, the delegations will tour dispatching centers for polling staff and various polling stations. They will observe both mock polls and actual voting processes. Additionally, the delegations will engage in brief interactions with voters.
