Masakali Song of Delhi-6 is Classic and way better than Masakali Remix.

Bollywood is in reverse mode in music. All the hit song of the ’90s are coming back in Bollywood. This culture has been started from the last six to seven years. Recently we show saif came up with Ole Ole and many more songs we show in movies which are recreated.

Remix culture has grown in Bollywood and its increasing day by day. Companies try to earn money from Video channels online platforms like YouTube.

But not original creators of any work of art support the idea of a remix or a recreation.

The latest remixed song is seeing criticism from a few from the film industry & the original creators of the song is Tanishk Bagchi’s “Masakali 2.0.” The original song “Masakali” from the film Delhi 6 which was an enormous hit was composed by the legendary music director & Oscar winner AR Rahman and lyrics were written by Prasoon Joshi with Mohit Chauhan as the lead singer.

Renowned Music company T-Series released the remix version called Masakali 2.0 recreated by Tanishk Bagchi which was criticised by not only the original creators of the song, but equally by the fans. 

Soon after the song came, AR Rahman wrote on his Twitter “No short cuts, properly commissioned, sleepless nights, writes and re-writes. Over 200 musicians, 365 days of creative brainstorming with the aim to produce music that can last generations. A team of a director, a composer and a lyricist supported by actors, dance directors and a relentless film crew.”

With the tweet, Rahman tagged lyricist Prasoon Joshi along with the director of Delhi 6 Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. 

Both Prasoon and Omprakash came forward to support the argument by the composer. Mehra on Twitter wrote, “#Masakali #Delhi6 Created with love & passion an iconic song that has to be preserved. 

Soon after this song released Prasoon wrote on his twitter Beware of the re-mix, it will damage your eardrums. 

All songs were written for #Delhi6 including #Masakali close to heart, sad to see when original creation of @arrahman @prasoonjoshi_ & singer @_MohitChauhan insensitively utilised. Upto the conscience of @Tseries. Hopefully the fans will stand for originality. @RakeyshOmMehra.”

Showing support for the same, singers Mohit Chauhan & Shreya Ghoshal, actor Sonam Kapoor (who starred in Delhi 6 along with Abhishek Bachchan) & musician Ankur Tewari also shared the tweets in support of AR Rahman. 

Lyricist & singer Swanand Kirkire condemned it on Twitter by writing, “Masakali Massacred.” Director Hansal Mehta also came in support of the original song & wrote a long post on Twitter condemning the remixed version saying that the “recreation of old songs can stop if the public rejects them.”
