Tried out the OnePlus Nord Buds, which were surprisingly good for the price

Believe the Nord Buds will fit the bill for those of us looking for a general pair of earbuds with a good overall sound and long battery life.

Expectations for a pair of truly wireless earbuds are straightforward. We need them to be comfortable, fit nicely in our ears, sound just suitable for our mood, and have enough battery life to last at least a day. At the same time, we want them to be less expensive than the Pepe Jeans we bought last summer. The Nord Buds are OnePlus’ most affordable TWS, and we was pleasantly surprised by what they have to offer. Here’s our:

Although the Nord Buds have the same form factor as the AirPods Pro, with a shortened stem and silicone tips, they have their personality. The buds and ear tips are either white or black, with a mirrored circular spot on the right also left sides of the buds for controls. You can pause or skip songs by double-tapping your finger twice. When running or exercising, these controls work well. At 4.82g each, the Nord Buds are lighter than the AirPods Pro, which weigh 5.4g each. These earbuds also have an IP55 rating, making them dust and water-resistant and suitable for use during exercise.

The earbuds are comfortable and fit into my ears without putting any pressure on them. Because the stem is shorter, it is easier to keep in place on the ear, even while brisk walking or intense workouts. The box includes 3 different sizes of ear tips. For the perfect fit, I kept adjusting the included silicone tip sizes.

I’ve been using the Nord Buds for a week now…and I must say they have good bass. According to the company, the 12.4mm drivers in the OnePlus Nord Buds were designed for “deeper bass and crisper, clear sound,” according to the company. Listening to tracks like “Starboy” by The Weeknd and “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson reveals the earbuds’ bass-heavy nature. The bass is indeed profound, but it is also tighter overall.
