Meet the Educated Minds Behind Cockroach Janta Party

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has become one of India’s most talked-about social media-driven movements, gaining traction after its call for protests at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi over the alleged NEET paper leak and demands for sweeping education reforms. As the demonstrations intensified and drew close scrutiny from Delhi Police and security agencies, public interest has surged around the people steering the movement.

Abhijeet Dipke’s journalism and PR credentials

Abhijeet Dipke, the founder and public face of CJP, holds a degree in journalism along with a Master’s in Public Relations from Boston University. Before launching the movement, he worked as a social media strategist for the Aam Aadmi Party. The satirical platform he started has since exploded in popularity, amassing 25.6 million followers on Instagram. CJP reportedly took shape after remarks attributed to Chief Justice Surya Kant, comparing unemployed youth to “cockroaches,” sparked widespread online backlash.

Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka’s professional expertise

Saurav Das, CJP’s chief spokesperson, holds a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication from Amity University and brings a background in investigative journalism, having covered legal and social issues extensively. Ashutosh Ranka, another key spokesperson, is an IIT Kanpur alumnus with a Master’s in Public Administration from the London School of Economics. He previously worked as a management consultant at McKinsey, bringing engineering, consulting, and public policy experience to the movement.

Together, the trio’s diverse academic and professional pedigree has added credibility to CJP’s rapidly growing influence, as the group continues to mobilise youth support and press its demands for education sector accountability.
