Aamir Khan has broken his silence on his divorce with Kiran Rao
Stating, “There was a change in our relationship as husband or wife.” And we wanted to honor the institution of marriage.”
Tomorrow, March 14, is Aamir Khan’s 57th birthday. The actor was new recently seen in the period action film Thugs of Hindostan (2018). His next film, Laal Singh Chaddha, was released in theatres in December 2020. However, the movie was delayed due to the pandemic and will now be released in theatres on July 4, 2022. As a result, in the last 3-4 years, the superstar has rarely appeared in front of the media or given interviews.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan made headlines in July 2021 when he announced his divorce from Kiran Rao.
It sparked a lot of debate, and the superstar remained silent on the matter. On the other hand, Aamir Khan appeared on a news channel and gave a rare interview. When asked about his decision to divorce Kiran Rao during this conversation, Aamir Khan gave a lengthy response. “Kiran Ji and I adore each other,” he said. We have a lot of respect and affection for one another. And I understand that some people are baffled by our equation. People find it challenging to comprehend. This is because we rarely see such a bond.
“Kiran Ji and I have had this discussion for a long time,” Aamir Khan continued. Ek dusre ko saahi maano mein family maante hai. Kiran ji’s family, her parents, her brother, her sisters, and my family…so Kiran Ji and I are families. As husband and wife, our relationship had changed. And we wanted to honor the institution of marriage. So we’ll hold each other’s hands and continue on our way. We are collaborating. We are also working together on the Paani Foundation. She lives on the second floor of the same building.”
Aamir Khan went on to say, “I’ve been very fortunate.” Reena Ji was my first wife. We were both too tiny at the time. We are also working together on the Paani Foundation. She lives on the second floor of the same building.”
“This is because woh insaan bahut achhi hai,” the superstar explained when asked how it was possible. (Laughter) Or unko lagta hai ki main insaan bahut accha hoon. The Paani Foundation was founded by me, Kiran ji, Reena ji, and Satyajit Bhatkal. In short, Reena Ji and I are also collaborating.”
