Arjanbhai Bhudia of Bhuj, Bhikhabhai Joshi of Junagadh, Aslam Cyclewala of Surat East. Ashokbhai Patel of Surat North, and Kamlkumar Patel of Valsad are among those on the second list.

The Congress Party is attempting to depose Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from power in Gujarat. Where the BJP has been in power for more than two decades.

Elections to the 182-member Gujarat Assembly will take place in two phases on December 1 and 5, with results expected on December 8.

The BJP, on the other hand, released its first list of 160 candidates for the two-phase elections to the 182-member Gujarat Assembly on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by PM Narendra Modi and other CEC members. Including Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, as well as the party’s national president J P Nadda, to finalise the candidates.

The BJP hopes to continue its unbroken winning streak in state assembly elections since 1995.

The Aam Aadmi Party’s entry has added a new dimension to the state’s traditional bipolar elections. With the BJP’s main challenger Congress facing a new round of defections as it works to regroup.
