Abhijeet Dipke Slams India’s Got Latent; Internet Hits Back

Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke sparked significant online debate after refusing to appear on Samay Raina’s popular comedy show India’s Got Latent. During an appearance on the podcast “Unfiltered by Samdish,” Dipke dismissed the show, claiming it promotes an “easy route mentality” and success through privilege rather than genuine effort and struggle.

The Controversy Unfolds

Speaking in Hindi, Abhijeet stated: “I will not go to India’s Got Latent. I don’t like it. Because the thinking that ‘Why should we fight, we should take the easy route and get out’. You will be able to get out because you are privileged.” His comments resonated with some viewers but triggered substantial criticism from others who questioned his credibility on the matter.

Public Backlash and Accusations

Social media users quickly highlighted a crucial contradiction: Abhijeet himself pursued a Master’s degree in Public Relations from Boston University in the United States. Commenters questioned how he could criticize privilege while benefiting from an expensive American education. “He was in USA and he’s not privileged?” and “Wasn’t he in USA? Is he not privileged?” became common responses across the viral video discussion threads.

The controversy has intensified discussions about privilege in India’s comedy scene. Meanwhile, India’s Got Latent Season 2, which premiered on June 20, 2026, has garnered over 45 million YouTube views and topped Netflix charts, suggesting audience support for Raina’s platform despite ongoing criticism from certain comedy personalities.
