At 44, Kareena Kapoor Khan is proving that discipline and consistency are the cornerstones of her fitness and wellness journey. In a recent interview with Nod magazine, the Bollywood actor opened up about her lifestyle changes post the Covid-19 pandemic and revealed how a strict daily routine has helped her feel healthier—physically and mentally.
Kareena shared that she now lives by what she described as an “almost monastic” routine. “Dinner by 6 pm, lights out by 9:30 pm, and morning workouts before the world wakes up,” she said, explaining that her day is structured to prioritize wellness and rest. Her early dinner and bedtime routine help her get enough quality sleep, which she considers essential for overall health.
“My friends know not to expect me at parties. And they respect that. They know I’ll be watching Schitt’s Creek on low volume,” she laughed, adding that her personal time at night is sacred. This transition to an early, balanced lifestyle started after the pandemic, when she realized how crucial both physical and mental well-being are.
Fitness, she emphasized, is no longer about appearance for her. “If I don’t work out, I’m in a bad mood. Post-Covid, I realised how important fitness is—not for vanity, but for well-being. It’s my mood stabilizer, my anchor,” she said. Whether it’s yoga, Pilates, or strength training, Kareena never skips her sessions, finding in them not just physical strength but emotional balance as well.
Kareena also spoke about her family’s love for cooking and food. “We love cooking together as a family. Saif, the kids, me—we’re all in the kitchen,” she shared. Her husband, actor Saif Ali Khan, is especially fond of Kerala cuisine and often experiments with recipes like idiyappams and coconut-based stews.
As for her own dietary habits, Kareena insists on having one wholesome Indian meal a day. “That’s non-negotiable,” she said. Despite having a relatively strict daily regimen, she ensures food is still a source of joy and togetherness in the household.
On the professional front, Kareena Kapoor Khan was last seen in Singham Again. She is currently shooting for Daayra, a film directed by Meghna Gulzar, where she stars opposite Malayalam actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran.
With her disciplined lifestyle, active career, and mindful approach to health and family, Kareena continues to inspire many—proving that age is no barrier to leading a fit and fulfilling life.
