Cocktail 2 Set for Star-Studded Delhi Premiere Before Global Release

Bollywood’s most anticipated release of the season, Cocktail 2, is gearing up for a grand premiere in Delhi on June 18, just one day before its worldwide theatrical debut on June 19. The Homi Adajania-directorial, produced by Maddock Films under Dinesh Vijan, brings together a powerhouse trio — Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna — for a celebration of love, friendship, and modern relationships.

A Star-Studded Night in the Capital

The entire lead cast, alongside director Homi Adajania and producer Dinesh Vijan, is confirmed to attend the Delhi premiere event. Given the film’s strong musical identity, the event is also expected to draw its singers and composers, setting the stage for a memorable evening. Industry insiders describe it as one of the biggest celebrity gatherings the national capital will witness this year.

Not a Sequel, But a Franchise

Despite its name, Cocktail 2 is neither a direct sequel nor a remake of the 2012 original. Kriti Sanon, who reunites with Shahid after their 2024 film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, clarified at the Times Now Summit 2026 that it is a franchise. She described it as carrying a similar vibe to the original — a blend of emotions, friendship, drama, music, and stunning locations — but with entirely new characters and a distinct storyline. The film’s central dynamic features two female leads and one male lead, with Homi Adajania himself admitting the on-set chemistry between Kriti and Rashmika was so strong, he playfully considered reversing the narrative around them entirely.
