The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has raised serious concerns about conditions inside government schools in Nagpur, alleging that alcohol and other intoxicants are being consumed on campus grounds. In a post on social media platform X, the party questioned why routine inspections of these premises were being treated as a security risk, suggesting that oversight was being deliberately obstructed even as such activities allegedly continued unchecked.

Allegations of Substance Use on Campus

According to CJP, individuals have reportedly been spotted using drugs and other intoxicating substances within school premises, raising alarm about the safety of the learning environment for students. The party’s claims point to a broader pattern of neglect, suggesting that authorities have failed to secure these spaces adequately, leaving children exposed to activities that have no place near an educational institution.

Infrastructure Failures Compound the Crisis

Beyond the substance-use allegations, CJP also highlighted a string of infrastructural shortcomings plaguing these government schools. The party pointed to washrooms that are reportedly filthy and unusable, an absence of clean drinking water, food safety concerns, and a shortage of classrooms to accommodate students. These issues, CJP argued, directly compromise children’s basic needs and their right to a safe, functional learning space.

The concerns tie into CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke’s ongoing “School Thik Karo” initiative, which has been documenting deficiencies in government schools and encouraging citizens to conduct their own inspections to pressure authorities into action. The campaign has reportedly prompted some repairs and facility upgrades in certain schools following increased public attention, though it has also drawn pushback, with CJP facing police complaints over alleged disruptions during some of its inspection drives.
