Ruaa Kayy Expands Her Presence Across Film, Streaming and Independent Music With Cocktail 2, Lukkhe and Laiyaan

Mumbai-based singer-songwriter, composer and vocal producer Ruaa Kayy (Harjot Kaur) continues to strengthen her position within the Indian music ecosystem with a series of high-profile releases across theatrical cinema, OTT and independent music platforms.

Her latest projects include Mashooqa from the upcoming feature film Cocktail 2, the independent single Laiyaan alongside Arijit Singh and RUTVXK, and multiple contributions to the Prime Video Original series Lukkhe.

Composed by Pritam, Mashooqa features Ruaa Kayy alongside Mahmood and Raghav Chaitanya. The Italy-shot track combines Mediterranean influences with mainstream Hindi film music aesthetics and forms part of one of the season’s most anticipated theatrical soundtracks.

Within the streaming space, Ruaa Kayy plays a significant role across the Lukkhe soundtrack. In addition to performing Jee Lenge alongside KING, she has sung seven tracks across the album and co-composed three songs, reflecting an increasingly multi-disciplinary role as vocalist, songwriter and composer.

Her independent release Laiyaan further expands her profile within India’s growing independent music market. The track, co-created with Arijit Singh and RUTVXK, received strong engagement for its emotionally driven songwriting and minimalist sonic approach.

Prior to her current releases, Ruaa Kayy contributed as an engineer and vocal producer on projects including Kesariya and the Brahmastra score, while also collaborating with artists such as Ed Sheeran, Jasmine Sandlas, Parineeti Chopra and KING.

Ruaa Kayy is the artist name of Harjot Kaur, Mumbai-based singer-songwriter, vocal producer and composer. She has contributed to film, streaming and independent projects across genres, working alongside Arijit Singh, Sunny MR, Ed Sheeran, KING, Jasmine Sandlas, Pritam and Parineeti Chopra, among others. As an engineer and vocal producer, her work spans the Brahmastra score and Kesariya.
